About

DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL SCIENCES - A DECADE OF EXCELLENCE (2007-2020)

Since its inception, the department has offered students a stimulating and creative atmosphere. With a variety of elective options, the department offers a Master of Science (MSc) in Physics. The department also offers a PhD programme in the cutting-edge fields of physics and material sciences. The final semester of MSc includes a full semester of research projects. The course content is created in accordance with UGC requirements.

Thrust Areas @ Department
  • Condensed Matter Theory and Experiment
  • Functional Nanostructured Materials, Thin Films, and Devices
  • Magnetic Nanoparticles and MR Fluid
  • Theoretical High Energy Physics and Astrophysics

Vision

“Being an integral part of PDPIAS gave me the golden opportunity to understand the conceptual questions of physics. Apparently, both the atmosphere and the professors of the Department of Physical Sciences encouraged me to pursue my career in the field of research.”

Mission

“To imbibe qualitative education and creative excellence, to the young minds and direct them to utilize the knowledge effectively for solving real-world problems creatively; eventually, strengthening their lifelong high-quality careers at a global front”

“Like the crowning crest of a peacock and the shining gem in the cobra’s hood, mathematics is the supreme Vedanga Sastra.”
