Naming As the university is located in the Charotar region of Gujarat, it is named as 'Charotar University of Science & Technology' and abbreviated as CHARUSAT.
CHARUSAT is made up of 6 Faculties, 8 Institutes, Research Centre, Space Technology Centre, Human Resource Development Centre, Rural Education Development Programme and various other Centres and Cells. CSPIT is the first institute established in year 2000 at Education Campus – Changa (now CHARUSAT). The institute is managed through a think tank of technocrats, administrators, scientists and engineers, educationalist, businessmen, stakeholders and other well-wishers from all parts of the world.

CHARUSAT has established the Manikaka Topawala Institute of Nursing (Formerly known as Charotar Institute of Nursing) in the year 2009 with the student intake of 40. In the year 2012 student intake was enhanced to 60. In the year 2011 Institute launched New programme General Nursing and Midwifery with the student intake of 40. The institute has been set up with the primary aim of meeting the requirement of nurses at various hospitals of the state and the nation.
