Cisco Certified Network Associate Program

The Cisco network academy program offers a wide range of valuable internet technology skills through CCNA, CCNP.

  • Academy
  • Commercially the student has to undergo for the training at some professional training center in the market where he has to give ONE exam. The biggest disadvantage of obtaining a certificate commercially is that student doers not get proper hands on experience on the network equipments and also the depth knowledge of the course.

    Cisco had introduced a concept of the academies which is further divided into two parts:

  • Regional Academy
  • Local Academy
  • The regional academy is the academy which offers CCNA and also provides training to instructors for teaching the curriculum of CCNA. It also provides the technical support to the local academies.

    The local academy runs the CCNA curriculum to train the students.

      Minimum requirement for implementing the program at a Local Academy:

    • 1-2 Instructors
    • Minimum 128KB dedicated internet connection to the classroom

    • The Cisco CCNA® curriculum includes four separate modules. These modules cover the learning objectives of the CCNA certification exam, which is the first step in a Cisco career-certification path. The curriculum emphasizes the use of decision-making and problem solving techniques to resolve networking issues.

      CCNA, a 280 hour-curriculum. Particular emphasis is given to using decision-making and problem-solving techniques in the application of science, mathematics, communication and special studies concepts to solve networking problems, students will learn how to install and configure Cisco switches and routes in multi protocol networks using local and wide area network (LAN and WAN), Provide Level 1 troubleshooting service, and improve network performance and security.

      Upon completion of CCNA1, students have an understanding of networking basics:

    • Computer hardware and software, electricity, networking terminology, and protocols
    • LANs and WANs, Open system interconnection (OSI) model, Ethernet, and Internet protocol (IP) addressing
    • Design and documentation of basic network and structures cabling
    • Network-to-network communication
    • Upon completion of CCNA2, students have an understanding of networking basics:

    • Router User interfaces, components and configuration
    • Basics of IOS versions, naming and software backup
    • TCP/IP protocol suite and IP addressing subnetting
    • Understanding and configuring Interior routing protocols –RIP, IGRP
    • Upon completion of CCNA3, students have an understanding of networking basics:

    • Switching and VLANs and VTP
    • Spanning Tree Protocol
    • Routing and routing protocols
    • Upon completion of CCNA4, students have an understanding of networking basics:

    • WAN devices, encapsulation formats and communication
    • PPP components, session establishment, and authentication
    • ISDN uses, services and configuration
    • Frame relay technology and configuration
    • Cisco certified Netwokr assocate (CCNA) coursework prepares students for CCNA certification.
