Academic Regulations and Syllabus

The M Sc (Biotechnology, Microbiology, Nano Science & Technology and Biochemistry) course of PDPIAS is of four semesters following the semester pattern of CHARUSAT. The syllabus covers broad fields of biotechnology such as molecular biology, genetic engineering, immunology and medical microbiology, microbiology, biochemistry, bioinstrumentation, biostatistics, bioinformatics, industrial and environmental biotechnology. Excellent practical training to the students is also imparted on the above areas using high class equipments, reagents and course materials. Other academic activities include seminar, paper presentation, group discussions and study visits to reputed institutions. Hands-on practical training is also given to students on bioinformatics. As part of M Sc (Biotechnology) Part II curriculum, in order to train and motivate students to undertake research career, dissertations in the contemporary subjects areas are allocated to each student individually.
