Manikaka Topawala Institute of Nursing

CHARUSAT has established the Manikaka Topawala Institute of Nursing (Formerly known as Charotar Institute of Nursing) in the year 2009 with the student intake of 40. In the year 2012 student intake was enhanced to 60. In the year 2011 Institute launched New program General Nursing and Midwifery with the student intake of 40. In 2014 PG program was launched in 5 specialties (Medical surgical nursing, Child health nursing, Mental Health nursing, Obstetrics and gynecology nursing and Community health nursing) with intake of 4 seats in each specialties. To foster the research work Institute established Ph.D. program in 2011.

The institute has been set up with the primary aim of meeting the requirement of nurses at various hospitals and institutes of the state, nation and worldwide.

These nursing programs (M.SC Nursing, B. Sc. Nursing and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)) contains basic courses like Human Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, sociology, Psychology and Bio-chemistry which will lay the base for the students for nursing practice. It gives exposure to the students for medical-surgical nursing, adult, geriatric nursing, obstetric and gynecological nursing, pediatric nursing, psychiatric nursing and community health nursing to enable students come out as a professional Nurse. In addition, these courses also help the students to develop their skills, knowledge, and understanding in the field of research, administration and education.

Admission process for the M.Sc. Nursing, Bachelor as well as Diploma in Nursing program is carried out in July - August of every year.

Admission for PhD program is carried out twice in year January & August of every year.
