Knowledge Resource Centre

INDUKAKA IPCOWALA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT (I2IM) is equipped with an exclusive library for the MBA Programme that contains over 5543 books and 480 CD’s on various management topics and related disciplines. In addition, the library subscribes to 64 national and international journals and magazines. The Wi–Fi facility at the institute offers support for use of 25 on–line journals subscribed by the institute at any given time. The institute has an exclusive study foyer for reading and study purpose for student and faculty members.

The Knowledge Resource center (Central Library) – a proud partner in the institute’s march towards its vision, plays a vital role in acquisition , organization and dissemination of knowledge. It has put in place policies and procedure systems and services and the ambience that facilitate creation of new knowledge. It has an excellent collection of both print and electronic books, journals, technical reports, back volumes and other reading material. It has adequate infrastructure to meet its requirements, has computerized all its operation using software developed in–house, and provide access to the collection through Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). It uses bar code technology for circulation. The KRC maintains a e resource access center containing 25 computer terminals for the students in which they can access national and international e resources namely IEEE, ASME, AIP, IOP, IPS, CITC library database containing e books, journals, Cd’s, Project Reports, Syllabus, University Exam papers through ftp. Moreover separate computer terminals provide to students with CD writer and USB port for their presentation of seminar, project work and day to day work.


Services

The knowledge Resource Center (KRC) offers a range of services including reference and circulation, phocopying resource sharing and partnerships, information alert service, book bank service for students and users awareness programmes.

The academic program is delivered through a well–conceived, defined and synchronized delivery system (our evolution over the years of our own existence), this channel/path is realized through an efficient and optimum combination of management of discrete and scattered resources vis – a – vis HR, Infrastructure, technical materials, laboratories and equipments, industrial exposure and training, continuous evaluation, project works and seminars, technology forum and competitive platforms, communication skills including soft and tertiary skills, utilization of the latest teaching aids and other concurrent supporting resources available in the field today.

The KRC maintains a separate reference collection consisting of encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, technical data, CD –ROMs etc. The Section renders short and long range reference service. Reference book marked by "R" and rare reference are marked "RR". The collection marked "RR" is kept under lock and key.

Readers may approach the Reference Desk for information or any assistance in the use of the Library Collections and Services. Users may also contact the e–resource manager for computerized services, CD ROM services and web–based electronic journals.

The Xeroxing facility in the KRC is extended through an external outfit licensed to operate from within the premises of KRC. Other Library users can also avail the Xeroxing facilities against nominal payment.

The CD–ROMs received along with books/journals/conferences are available in the Reference Section and avail the facility of transaction as per rules.

Display of newspaper clippings related to our institution and other S & T developments. The library also display faculty publication, forthcoming conferences and other international events.
