The Institute

Charotar institute of Physiotherapy, a constituent institute of Charotar University of Science & Technology (CHARUSAT) has started its academic session for the year 2009-10. It offers the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T.) programme which is a four and half year programme. This institute is the first step in health care project of CHARUSAT on the Education Campus, Changa and it will be focusing on other departments like B.D.S., M.B.B.S courses with multispeciality hospitals in the forthcoming years.
The vision of the institute is to become a premier institute in producing physiotherapists with proficiency and moral values. It offers 40 seats for its four-and-a-half year Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) course affiliated to the Charotar University of Science & Technology (CHARUSAT), comprising of 8 semesters and 6 months of compulsory rotatory internship. The evaluation system is based on Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) system and total credits to earn a Bachelor of Physiotherapy degree will be 240 credits.
The institute has MOU’s with various hospitals for a total of 750 beds towards student’s clinical training.

The Bachelor of Physiotherapy programme contains the basic courses, clinical courses, skill development courses and research oriented courses to produce world class physiotherapists. The institute runs a full-fledged Outpatient Department (OPD) with highly modern sophisticated and state of the art equipments.  It also has a highly modern gym with professional care.

The students at the institute are actively involved in organizing events like free physio camps for rural people, physio week and conference for the Physiotherapy colleges students of Gujarat. The services of the institute are also extended to the subcentres of Anand and Kheda districts. The faculty members of the institute keep themselves updated and participate regularly in various academic activities.
