Research at CHARUSAT

CHARUSAT emphasizes and encourages research projects. Research-oriented M.Tech., M.Pharm. and M.Sc. programs are started and quality research has always been an important criterion in faculty selection.

An important aim of the research activity at CHARUSAT is to enhance the quality of interaction between the institute and industry for solving technical problems in the broad field of Engineering and Sciences.

Equally important is the aim of stimulating and enhancing the research ability and potential of CHARUSAT students who have the interest and aptitude to carry out innovative research.

At present active research is being carried out within the institutes into various aspects of science and engineering, and also into the many ways in which technology and science impact society and culture.

The CHARUSAT institutes are provided with well-equipped laboratories, specialized equipment, the full range of required infrastructure, including campus-wide networking and high-speed internet access, subscription to hundreds of print and online journals, and more.

KRADLE

After venturing into undergraduate and postgraduate education in Engineering, Pharmacy, Management, Computer Applications, and Applied Sciences, it was perceived that time is ripe for an R & D centre as a vehicle for progress and quality education.

KRADLE was established in January 2007 to undertake R & D work in the emerging areas of science and technology.

Dr. K. C. Patel Research and Development Centre (KRADLE) undertakes multidisciplinary research as well as scientific and industrial development.

Currently the R & D Centre researchers are working in the following areas:

Non-vacuum solution based processes for nanoparticles, nanostructures, nanocomposites and thin films
Nanostructures and nanocomposites for solar cells and optoelectronic devices
Inorganic-polymer nanocomposites for optical and optoelectronic applications
Plant-derived materials for optical and electronic application.

Ph. D. Programme

CHARUSAT has launched the Ph. D. programme from January 2010 for conducting research in frontier areas of Engineering, Pharmacy and Applied Sciences.

Ph. D. Research Topics include:
  • Nanoscience
  • Protein Biochemistry
  • Clinical Biochemistry
  • Targeted Drug Delivery
  • Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology
  • Optical Communication
  • Electromagnetics and Antenna Design
  • Mathematics
  • Condensed Matter Physics
  • Solar Energy Devices
  • Satellite and Wireless Communication
  • Solid State Electronics.
Advantage CHARUSAT

The university provides a vibrant research environment supported by highly qualified faculty members, excellent infrastructure and state-of-art facilities. The campus is wi-fi with high-speed internet. The library has over 30,000 books, journals, and access to about 400 ejournals.

Ph. D. students of CHARUSAT will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with different disciplines and also interact with faculties from various fields. Interdisciplinary research will be encouraged. Students can also take part in on-going research projects sponsored by national agencies.
