Foundation
Charotar is the region comprising Anand and Kheda districts of
Gujarat. Patidars or Patels who mainly populate this region are highly flavoured
by the dynamisms of Sardar Patel, the visionary integrator of independent India
and legendary son of Charotar. The people of this region hold cultural, social and
moral uniqueness. Their philanthropic nature, excellent sense for entrepreneurship
and administration are visible to all.

Matrusanstha
A group of Patidar villages conceived a social organization way back in 1895 which
subsequently got registered in 1984 and came to be known as Shri
Charotar Moti Sattavis Leuva Patidar Samaj – Matrusanstha. The organization
trodded a new path towards social reformation by arranging Mass Marriages for the
community to abolish destructive societal evils. This was indeed a revolution in
a true sense. Today, Matrusanstha reflects aspirations of more than 25000 families
of 66 rural, 9 national and international units.

Kelavani Mandal
“Education is the vehicle for empowerment and development”
- this was felt by the enlightened individuals of Shri Charotar
Moti Sattavis Leuva Patidar Samaj – Matrusanstha and was born –
Shri Charotar Moti Sattavis Patidar Kelavani Mandal
- An Organization to solely focus on imparting education and spreading light
of knowledge. Kelavani Mandal started functioning from 1994 after getting registered
as a not for profit Education Trust with Charity Commissioner’s Office.
From its inception, Kelavani Mandal adopted knowledge dissemination as a tool of
social change. As a first venture, Education Campus – Anand was established in 1995.
D Z Patel (Ramol / London) Higher Secondary School (Science Stream) and Jashkamal
– Milcent Management Training Centre (JMTC) are constituents of it.
The Trust then experienced that a greater thrust with wider horizons is needed for
transformatory contribution to society. Education Campus – Changa was founded in
2000 with the establishment of Charotar Institute of Technology as the first institute.
Seven more institutes were added subsequently. And the seeds of CHARUSAT were sown.
